Ziglim M 2 – Strip of 15 Tablets

🧾 Composition (per tablet):

• Metformin Hydrochloride IP – 500 mg

• Glimepiride IP – 2 mg

• Excipients – q.s. (just enough to complete the formulation)

🧪 Note: This version contains a higher dose of Glimepiride (2 mg) compared to Ziglim M1 (1 mg).

🎯 Uses / Indications:

Ziglim M 2 is prescribed for:

• Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (non-insulin-dependent)

• Patients who need stronger dual therapy for blood sugar control

• Cases where Ziglim M1 or other lower-dose combinations are insufficient

🔍 Mechanism of Action:

1. Metformin (500 mg):

• Reduces hepatic glucose production

• Increases insulin sensitivity

• Delays intestinal glucose absorption

2. Glimepiride (2 mg):

• Promotes insulin secretion from the pancreas

• Enhances glucose utilization in the body

• A higher dose (2 mg) increases insulin release effect
