Sitara-M 50/1000 mg (Strip of 10 Tablets) is a combination medication used to manage Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults. It helps regulate blood sugar levels effectively, particularly in cases where blood sugar is not adequately controlled by diet and exercise alone.

Key Composition:

1. Sitagliptin (50 mg)
   • A DPP-4 (Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4) inhibitor that increases the activity of incretin hormones. This helps the body produce more insulin and reduce glucose production after meals.
2. Metformin Hydrochloride (1000 mg)
   • A Biguanide that works by decreasing glucose production in the liver and improving the body’s response to insulin.

Uses:

• Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
