Halovate-F Cream โ€“ 15g Tube

Composition (per gram):

Ingredient Strength Purpose
Halobetasol Propionate USP 0.05% w/w A very potent corticosteroid; reduces inflammation, redness, itching, and swelling.
Fusidic Acid IP 2% w/w A topical antibiotic; effective mainly against gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus.
Phenoxyethanol IP 0.7% w/w A preservative with mild antibacterial and antifungal properties.
Cream base q.s. Non-active ingredients forming the cream medium.

Halovate-F is typically used to treat:

  • Inflamed bacterial skin infections

  • Eczematous dermatitis with secondary infection

  • Atopic dermatitis with signs of bacterial contamination

  • Infected psoriasis (localized)

  • Contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, intertrigo, or folliculitis with associated bacterial component


โš™๏ธ Mechanism of Action:

Component Role
Halobetasol A super-potent corticosteroid; suppresses skin inflammation by acting on glucocorticoid receptors to reduce cytokine production.
Fusidic Acid Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by targeting elongation factor G (EF-G); highly effective against Staphylococcal infections, including MRSA in some cases.

๐Ÿ’Š Dosage and Application:

Use as directed by the physician.

  • Apply a thin layer to the affected area once or twice daily.

  • Do not exceed 2 weeks of use unless specifically advised by your doctor.

  • Do not cover with airtight dressings unless instructed.

  • Avoid application to face, groin, or mucosal areas unless prescribed.

  • For external use only.

  • Do not use on broken skin, open wounds, or viral/fungal infections.

  • Avoid long-term use due to risk of:

    • Skin thinning

    • Steroid dependency

    • Perioral dermatitis

    • Delayed wound healing

  • Use caution in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
