What is Bidin LS 0.1%?
Bidin LS 0.1% is an ophthalmic solution formulated to lower elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension.
It is a low-strength (LS) version of Brimonidine designed to reduce side effects such as allergic reactions, redness, and dryness, which are more common with the 0.2% formulation.
How It Works:
Brimonidine 0.1% lowers eye pressure by:
-
Decreasing aqueous humour production
-
Increasing uveoscleral outflow (enhancing drainage from the eye)
This dual action helps maintain healthier optic nerve function and prevents vision loss due to glaucoma.
Indications / Uses:
-
Open-angle glaucoma
-
Ocular hypertension
-
Patients requiring additional IOP control
-
Those who experience irritation with stronger 0.2% formulations
Key Benefits:
-
Lower concentration → better tolerability
-
Reduces IOP effectively
-
Suitable for long-term therapy
-
Helps prevent progression of glaucoma
-
Reduced risk of allergic conjunctivitis compared to 0.2%
