Description
Topisal-6% – Bottle of 30 ml Lotion
Topisal 6% Lotion is a topical medication that combines Clobetasol Propionate and Salicylic Acid for the treatment of various skin conditions. It is primarily used to reduce inflammation, itching, and scaling, and to treat conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis.
Composition of Topisal 6% Lotion:
Each 30 ml bottle of lotion contains:
- Clobetasol Propionate 0.05% w/v:
- Clobetasol Propionate is a potent corticosteroid that helps to reduce inflammation, redness, and itching associated with various skin conditions. It works by inhibiting the release of substances that trigger inflammation and immune responses in the skin.
- It is used in the treatment of psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, and other inflammatory skin conditions.
- Salicylic Acid 6% w/v:
- Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic agent, which means it helps to soften and remove the thickened skin layers caused by conditions like psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis.
- It works by breaking down the bonds between skin cells, promoting the shedding of dead skin cells, and reducing scaling and thickening of the skin.
- Salicylic acid also has mild antiseptic properties and can help in the treatment of acne or other skin infections.
Pharmacological Actions:
- Clobetasol Propionate:
- Anti-inflammatory: Clobetasol works by reducing the production of inflammatory mediators, leading to a reduction in swelling, redness, and irritation.
- Immunosuppressive: It suppresses the immune response in the skin, which is beneficial for treating autoimmune conditions like psoriasis and eczema.
- Anti-pruritic (anti-itching): It reduces itching and discomfort associated with skin conditions.
- Salicylic Acid:
- Keratolytic: It helps to break down the layers of dead skin, which is especially useful for conditions like psoriasis where skin cells build up abnormally.
- Exfoliating: Salicylic acid promotes the shedding of excess skin cells, helping to clear up scaly, thickened skin.
- Antiseptic: It helps to prevent or treat minor skin infections by controlling bacteria on the surface of the skin.

Topisal 3% Lotion is used to treat:
- Psoriasis (including plaque psoriasis and scalp psoriasis)
- Eczema (including atopic dermatitis)
- Seborrheic dermatitis
