Composition (Each uncoated chewable tablet contains):

• Montelukast Sodium IP
  (equivalent to Montelukast) – 5 mg

Dosage Form:

Chewable Tablet
To be chewed thoroughly before swallowing

Therapeutic Class:

Leukotriene Receptor Antagonist
(Paediatric formulation)

Uses / Indications:

Montair 5 mg Chewable Tablets are used in children for:

• Allergic rhinitis

• Sneezing & runny nose

• Nasal congestion

• Allergy-associated wheezing

• Prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction

• Asthma (maintenance therapy)

How It Works (Mechanism of Action):

• Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, reducing airway inflammation, mucus production, and allergy symptoms.

Dosage:

• Children (6–14 years): 1 chewable tablet once daily

• Preferably taken in the evening

• Route: Oral

Common Side Effects (Usually Mild):

• Headache

• Abdominal pain

• Thirst

• Mild sleep disturbances (rare)

Precautions:

• Not for relief of acute asthma attack

• Use with caution in liver disorders

• Use only as prescribed in children

• Inform doctor if mood or behavior changes occur
