⚙️ Mechanism of Action:

Iron Isomaltoside is a stable iron–carbohydrate complex. It releases iron slowly to bind with transferrin and ferritin for incorporation into hemoglobin and other iron-dependent enzymes.


💉 Administration Guidelines:

  • Given by healthcare professionals only

  • Can be given as:

    • IV slow bolus injection

    • IV infusion diluted in saline

  • Dose and frequency depend on:

    • Hemoglobin level

    • Body weight

    • Total iron deficit


🧪 Monitoring Required:

  • Hemoglobin (Hb)

  • Serum ferritin

  • Transferrin saturation
