Description
Aceclo Sera – Strip of 10 Tablets
Aceclo Sera is a combination medication containing Aceclofenac, Paracetamol (Acetaminophen), and Serratiopeptidase. This combination is typically used to manage pain and inflammation, particularly in conditions like musculoskeletal disorders, arthritis, and post-surgical pain.
Composition:
- Aceclofenac 100 mg
- Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) 325 mg
- Serratiopeptidase 15 mg (equivalent to 30,000 units) as enteric-coated granules
- Excipients: These are inactive ingredients used to help in the formulation and stability of the tablet.
What Each Ingredient Does:
- Aceclofenac (100 mg):
- Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID): Aceclofenac works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, which are chemicals that promote inflammation, pain, and fever. By reducing these chemicals, Aceclofenac helps reduce inflammation, pain, and swelling in conditions like arthritis, back pain, and musculoskeletal disorders.
- Paracetamol (325 mg):
- Analgesic and Antipyretic: Paracetamol, also known as Acetaminophen, is a pain reliever and fever reducer. It works centrally in the brain to alleviate mild to moderate pain, such as headaches, muscle pain, or post-surgical pain, and reduces fever without significantly affecting inflammation. Unlike NSAIDs, Paracetamol has minimal gastrointestinal side effects.
- Serratiopeptidase (15 mg):
- Proteolytic Enzyme: Serratiopeptidase is an enzyme that helps break down proteins and promotes the resolution of inflammation. It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and fibrinolytic properties. Serratiopeptidase is known to reduce swelling, promote healing of damaged tissues, and help alleviate pain associated with inflammation. Its enteric coating ensures that it is released in the intestine, rather than the stomach, for optimal absorption.
Indications:
Aceclo Sera is typically used for the following conditions:
- Musculoskeletal pain: Useful for pain due to conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, back pain, or sprains.
- Post-surgical pain: Helps reduce pain and inflammation following surgeries or injuries.
- Inflammatory conditions: Treats swelling and pain from conditions like tendonitis and bursitis.
- Fever and pain relief: For mild to moderate pain and fever.
Dosage:
- The usual dosage is 1 tablet of Aceclo Sera twice a day (morning and evening), or as directed by your healthcare provider.
- Take the tablet with or after food to help minimize gastrointestinal irritation, especially from Aceclofenac.
- Do not chew, break, or crush the tablet, as this may affect the effectiveness of the enteric-coated Serratiopeptidase and the sustained release of the ingredients.
Common Side Effects:
While Aceclo Sera is effective, some side effects may occur, including:
- Gastrointestinal issues: Aceclofenac can cause indigestion, nausea, stomach pain, or, rarely, ulcers or bleeding in the stomach or intestines, especially with long-term use.
- Headaches or dizziness: These are common side effects of both Aceclofenac and Paracetamol.
- Rashes or allergic reactions: Some people may experience skin rashes or allergic reactions to Aceclofenac or Serratiopeptidase.
- Liver and kidney effects: Long-term use or high doses of Aceclofenac or Paracetamol may affect liver or kidney function.
- Mild stomach discomfort: Serratiopeptidase, being an enzyme, may cause mild gastrointestinal discomfort in some individuals.
Warnings and Precautions:
- Gastrointestinal Risk: As with other NSAIDs, Aceclofenac can cause gastric irritation, ulcers, or bleeding, particularly if taken for a prolonged period. It is advisable to take the medication with food or after meals to reduce stomach irritation.
- Liver and Kidney Function: Aceclofenac and Paracetamol can affect liver and kidney function, particularly with long-term use. Regular monitoring may be needed if you’re using this medication for an extended period.
- Dosing in High Risk Populations: Caution is required when using Aceclo Sera in individuals with pre-existing liver or kidney disease, heart disease, or high blood pressure.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Aceclofenac is not recommended during the third trimester of pregnancy, as it may harm the fetus. Always consult your healthcare provider before using any medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Allergic Reactions: If you are allergic to any of the components of Aceclo Sera (such as Aceclofenac or Serratiopeptidase), you should avoid using it.
Storage:
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
- Keep it out of reach of children.
