Composition (Each 1 ml contains):

• Hydroxyprogesterone Caproate IP … 250 mg
  (A synthetic progestogen used for preventing preterm birth and hormone therapy)

• Oily Base … q.s. to 1 ml
  (Vehicle, typically castor oil or sesame oil, to provide sustained release of the active ingredient)

Maintane 250 is a long-acting progesterone injection designed to provide a sustained release of hydroxyprogesterone caproate. This progestogen is commonly used in obstetrics to prevent preterm labor in women with a history of spontaneous preterm birth. It is also used in certain cases of progesterone deficiency and gynecological conditions under strict medical supervision. The oily base ensures the drug remains in the system for extended periods, reducing the need for frequent dosing.

Mechanism of Action
