🧪 Halobetasol is approximately 600 times more potent than hydrocortisone and significantly stronger than Betamethasone or Clobetasol.

Halovate is reserved for severe, resistant, and steroid-responsive dermatoses, such as:

⚙️ Mechanism of Action:

Halobetasol binds to glucocorticoid receptors, inhibiting inflammatory cytokines and mediators such as:

  • Prostaglandins

  • Interleukins (IL-1, IL-6)

  • Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF-α)

This leads to:

  • Suppression of inflammation

  • Reduction in erythema, edema, and pruritus

  • Decrease in immune cell activity
