Composition (Per dose):

• Ispaghula Husk – 3.5 g

• Lactitol – 10 g

Therapeutic Class:

Bulk-forming laxative + Osmotic laxative

Uses / Indications:

Gutclear-IG Granules are used for:

• Chronic constipation

• Hard stools

• Irregular bowel movements

• Constipation associated with piles (hemorrhoids)

• Constipation in elderly and bedridden patients

• Bowel regulation in IBS (as advised by doctor)

How It Works (Mechanism of Action):

• Ispaghula absorbs water, increases stool bulk, and promotes natural bowel movement.

• Lactitol draws water into the intestines, softening stools and easing defecation.

Together, they ensure gentle, effective, and regular bowel clearance.

Dosage & Administration:

• Usually 1–2 spoonfuls once daily, preferably at bedtime

• Mix with a full glass of water or milk

• Follow doctor’s advice for exact dose

Common Side Effects (Usually Mild):

• Bloating

• Flatulence

• Abdominal discomfort (initial days)

These usually settle as the body adjusts.

Precautions:

• Drink plenty of fluids

• Avoid in intestinal obstruction

• Use cautiously in diabetic patients (due to lactitol)

• Not recommended for sudden abdominal pain of unknown cause
