Description
Ascoril D Plus – Bottle of 100 ml Syrup
Ascoril D Plus is a combination syrup that is commonly used to treat respiratory conditions such as cough, bronchitis, and asthma, especially when there is excessive mucus production. It helps in relieving symptoms associated with bronchospasm, chest tightness, and difficulty in breathing. The syrup is available in a 100 ml bottle.
Active Ingredients in Ascoril D Plus:
- Ambroxol (30 mg per 5 ml):
- Ambroxol is an expectorant that helps loosen and thin mucus, making it easier to clear from the airways. It enhances the production of surfactant (a substance that helps keep the airways moist) and reduces mucus viscosity, which aids in easier expectoration.
- Salbutamol (2 mg per 5 ml):
- Salbutamol is a bronchodilator, which helps relax the muscles in the airways, thus widening the air passages. This makes it easier for air to flow into the lungs and relieves symptoms of bronchospasm such as wheezing, shortness of breath, and tightness in the chest. It is commonly used in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
- Guaifenesin (50 mg per 5 ml):
- Guaifenesin is an expectorant that helps increase the production of respiratory tract fluids and loosens mucus, making it easier to cough up and clear from the airways.
- Dextromethorphan (10 mg per 5 ml):
- Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant (antitussive) that works on the brain to reduce the urge to cough. It is particularly useful when the cough is dry and non-productive or when a constant cough is disturbing.
Indications:
Ascoril D Plus syrup is prescribed for:
- Cough with mucus production: It helps clear mucus and reduce coughing.
- Bronchospasm: It is used to relieve symptoms of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and bronchitis.
- Dry Cough: The presence of Dextromethorphan helps reduce coughing, especially in dry coughs, which can be irritating.
- Excessive Mucus Production: It helps in loosening and clearing thick mucus that is difficult to expel from the lungs.
