Composition (per gram):

• Betamethasone Dipropionate IP 0.025% w/w – A potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, itching, and swelling.

• Phenylephrine Hydrochloride IP 0.10% w/w – A vasoconstrictor that shrinks swollen blood vessels, helping relieve hemorrhoid symptoms.

• Lignocaine (Lidocaine) Hydrochloride IP 2.50% w/w – A local anesthetic that provides quick relief from pain and itching.

• Chlorocresol IP – A preservative to prevent microbial contamination.

• Base: Aqueous cream base

Indications / Uses:

Anovate is typically used for the relief of symptoms associated with hemorrhoids (piles), including:

• Pain

• Swelling

• Itching

• Local inflammation

• Discomfort during defecation

It may also be used in cases of anal fissures, proctitis, or post-hemorrhoidectomy care, as advised by a healthcare provider.

Dosage and Application:

To be used as directed by the physician.

Typical usage instructions include:

• Clean and dry the affected area before application.

• Apply a small amount of the cream 2–3 times daily, especially after bowel movements and at bedtime.

• Can be applied externally or intra-anally using the applicator provided (if available).

Precautions:

• For rectal use only.

• Do not use for more than 7 days continuously without medical advice due to potential side effects of corticosteroids.

• Avoid contact with eyes and open wounds.

• Use with caution in patients with hypertension, cardiovascular disease, or diabetes (due to phenylephrine and corticosteroid components).

• Not recommended during pregnancy or lactation unless clearly needed and prescribed.
