Dosage Form and Pharmaceutical Class
Midora 2.5 mg is an oral tablet belonging to the alpha-1 adrenergic agonist class. It is primarily prescribed to increase blood pressure in patients with symptomatic orthostatic hypotension.
Description
Midora 2.5 mg tablets provide a low-dose formulation suitable for titration in patients with orthostatic hypotension. The strip contains 30 tablets, ideal for patients requiring longer-term therapy.
Mechanism of Action
Midodrine is a prodrug converted in the body to desglymidodrine, which stimulates alpha-1 adrenergic receptors on blood vessels. This causes vasoconstriction, increases peripheral resistance, and raises blood pressure, particularly when standing, reducing dizziness and fainting.

-
Reduces symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness, and fainting associated with low standing blood pressure.

-
Avoid taking just before bedtime to reduce risk of supine hypertension.
-
