Description

Sitara-DM 1000 (Strip of 10 Tablets) combines three active ingredients—Metformin (1000 mg), Sitagliptin (100 mg), and Dapagliflozin (10 mg)—to provide comprehensive blood sugar control for adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Composition and Roles:

1. Metformin (1000 mg):
   • A Biguanide that:
     • Reduces glucose production in the liver.
     • Improves the body’s response to insulin.
     • Decreases glucose absorption from the intestines.
2. Sitagliptin (100 mg):
   • A DPP-4 (Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4) inhibitor that:
     • Increases levels of incretin hormones, enhancing insulin release after meals.
     • Reduces unnecessary glucose production in the liver.
3. Dapagliflozin (10 mg):
   • An SGLT2 (Sodium-Glucose Co-Transporter-2) inhibitor that:
     • Promotes glucose excretion through urine by blocking glucose reabsorption in the kidneys.
     • Helps in weight management and reduces cardiovascular risks.

Uses:

• Effective in managing Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus when single or dual therapy does not provide adequate glycemic control.

Potential Side Effects:
